They face extended absences of their mom or dad, changing living situations, new schools and friendships, and worry about the safety of their parents. Military kids often have to keep a strong exterior, stepping in as emotional support for a parent or sibling. But inside they can be in crisis, battling suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, depression, and anger.

Your generous support enables Military families to enroll their children in the Hero Squad program at no cost to them. Every family receives a Welcome Box with age-appropriate first Bibles for each child and one for caretakers, age-and-gender specific devotionals for each child, and a few fun tools designed to help families grow in their understanding of the God of the Bible. Kids then receive devotionals and seasonal activities delivered straight to their doorstep each quarter for as long as children meet the 3-17 age requirement. In addition, parents and caregivers receive weekly devotional emails to offer encouragement and biblical principles for supporting these special kids as well as opportunities to connect to a loving community digitally.

Armed Services Ministry, a ministry of American Bible Society, has been serving our Military through the free distribution of Bibles and Scripture engagement resources for more than 200 years. Staffed by retired Chaplains and Veterans, we understand the victories and the struggles of serving both God and country, and we’re committed to equipping Chaplains and Military ministries to change lives through Scripture.
